Security (BDS) team is seeking a Structural Design Engineer as part
of the KC-46 Aerial Refueling Integration and Boom Team located in
USA - Everett, WA. The KC-46 Aerial Refueling Integration and Boom
Team is responsible for the aerial refueling boom system design,
production and sustainment. --The team works closely with equipment
suppliers, flight test, production, Boeing Commercial, Boeing
Global Services, and the military customer.This position is best
suited to individuals who are self-starters, highly motivated, work
well in fast-paced multi-discipline team environments, and are able
to work with quick decisions for the best interest of the
business.Job Responsibilities:
- Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and
interior payload system requirements to establish the system
design.
- Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior
payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided
Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product
definition to other engineering groups, production operations,
suppliers and external customers throughout the product
lifecycle.
- Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components
meet requirements and specifications.
- Assists with supplier development, test and production
activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the
design and achieve program goals.
- Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop
concepts for future product designs to meet projected
requirements.
- Works under general supervision.This position is expected to be
100% onsite.-- The selected candidate will be required to work
onsite at one of the listed locations options.This position must
meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control
compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R.
--120.15 is required.-- "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful
permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications
(Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years' experience in Engineering (for level 2)
- 5+ years' experience in Engineering (for level 3)
- 1 + years' experience with CATIA or other CAD softwarePreferred
Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in computer aided design/computer aided
manufacturing (CAD/CAM), Computer aided three dimensional
interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics--and/ or Unigraphics.
- Experience in structural design through internships, projects,
and/or previous positions.
- Experience with collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and
analyzing data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and
recommendations from appropriate data sources.
- Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple
skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and
issues impacting design, production, and support of products,
services, or other deliverables.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.Typical Education &
Experience:Associate-Level (Level 2): Bachelor's degree and
typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering
classification or a Master's degree with experience in an
engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an
engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of
Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the
preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Mid-Level
(Level 3): Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years'
experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree
with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering
classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering
classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree
from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer
science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred,
