SALARY RANGE:$115,000 - 127,000
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Network Engineer III leads and delivers the successful
implementation and support of Vigor Industrial's network
infrastructure with a primary focus on security and
performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Management and Support
- Lead the engineering and build of network solutions to meet
business objectives.
- Implement network design planning/roadmap including
test/security controls based on network requirements and technical
specifications.
- Leads the diagnosis, identification and resolution of
performance issues that affect our ability to deliver a high
availability network solution across the enterprise.
- Proactively adjust network services to optimize performance and
functionality; collaborate with IT peer groups to perform root
cause analysis of issues and identify solutions.
- Provide 24/7 network support and maintenance with on-call
duties after hours, as required to meet service expectations.
Security Management:
- Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best
practices to safeguard data and systems (STIGs, Vulnerability
Management)
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability
assessments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and system security issues
promptly.
- Collaborate with the Systems Administration team to ensure only
required access to critical business systems and data.
Server & Hardware Administration:
- Maintain and upgrade networking equipment, ensuring high
availability and disaster recovery preparedness.
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery
drills.
- Manage hardware lifecycle, from procurement to
decommissioning.
Automation & Scripting:
- Optimize processes to reduce manual intervention and improve
operational efficiency.
Collaboration & Support:
- Provide support to IT staff and other departments in
troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Assist in system deployment and configurations for new projects
or initiatives.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure and
maintain hardware and software.
Documentation, Governance, & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed system documentation, including configuration
and procedures.
- Prepare reports on system performance, capacity planning, and
security issues for senior management.
- Track and document changes to the IT infrastructure, ensuring
compliance with regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and Cyber Maturity Model
Certification (CMMC) compliance requirements.
- Lead in the development and review of clear network and process
documentation consistent with department standards; identify
process gaps and recommend improvements, implementing as
appropriate.
Leadership & Mentorship:
- Mentorship of peer and junior Network Engineers on a day-to-day
basis
- Manage workload prioritization for the Network Engineering
team
- Lead in the peer review of change control requests
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years' experience managing, configuring and
troubleshooting routers and switches, SDWAN, and wireless in a 24/7
enterprise multi-state network environment.
- Minimum 3 years' experience evaluating corporate network
requirements, developing, deploying and troubleshooting complex
network systems architectures for medium/large enterprise
environments.
- Experience in performing lab testing and validation before
implementing into production.
- Advanced experience with bandwidth measurement tools, network
monitoring tools, network performance tools and load balancing
technologies
- Expert knowledge of the following protocols: TCP/IP, LACP
protocol, 802.1d, 802.3, 802.11, Port security, HSRP, VRRP, BGP,
OSPF and ACL's and VACL's
- Proven ability to optimally build and maintain cabling and a
network rack of equipment.
- Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and
written to a wide range of users.
- Ability to problem solve effectively, with strong critical
thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team to manage time
effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet
deadlines.
- Proficient in working on multiple projects at once,
prioritizing, working independently and comfortably under pressure
in a fast-paced environment; all while exhibiting exemplary
technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and rapport with
internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Azure networking, Cisco, and Fortinet
devices
- Strong knowledge of wireless technology, authentications
services, and NAC
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is
preferred or equivalent work experience
Certification/License: CCIE certification is preferred.

issues to non-technical users.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Working Environment:
- Full-time position with potential for on-call support outside
of regular business hours.
- May require occasional travel for system deployments or site
visits.
