Description Description Job summaryAmazon, the world s most customer-centric company, seeks an experienced Program Manager to oversee multiple payment network programs, rules, pricing and operational compliance for Amazon s payments business. The position represents an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and high paced environment, supporting a global payments organization. As one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world, Amazon processes billions of secure on-line transactions via a number of payment mechanisms, including credit cards, debit cards and bank payments. The successful candidate will play an influential role in the Payment Acceptance & Experience organization. This team is responsible for increasing payment access to our customers, building trust, and creating world-class paying experiences. This role involves working with business and technology partners to identify opportunities to improve payment network business controls with the objectives of mitigating risk and improving financial and operational performance. The Program Manager will engage with various stakeholders across the company, including operations, risk, compliance, and legal functions. This position will assess payment partner operational requirements and the impact of those requirements on Amazon s global payment acceptance business. This position will work with both internal and external partners to develop compliance strategies that mitigate business disruptions and negative customer impacting events.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. He or she must be a fast learner, who can quickly absorb the nuances of Amazon's varied payment offerings as well as the behavior of Amazon's internal systems. He or she will be analytical in their decision making, with the demonstrated ability to proactively drive issues to completion and have a passion for supplying their clients with data. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and strategy. Excellent listening, writing skills and strong technical competency are essential. This critical position is located at the headquarters in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA. Primary Responsibilities Include: Proactively identify payment industry developments that may pose significant business and/or compliance risk. Partner with payment networks and acquirers to understand program rules, pricing and changing industry requirements, the rationale for those changes, and the operational and financial impact to Amazon s business and customer. Proactively provide strategic guidance to internal partners where policies, procedures, and business processes should be developed or updated to meeting changing requirements. Drive a compliance review and analysis of new developments and maintain oversight of developments impacting business activities. Participate and collaborate in compliance advisory and integration projects as well as conduct compliance assessment and define requirements as needed for the approval of business projects and initiatives such as new product development and changes to existing products. Work closely with key functional organizations to ensure proper implementation, reporting and change management Prepare reports to Senior Management on a timely basis regarding all relevant compliance issues through periodic reports as well as escalating any key or high-risk compliance issues. Provide support to the business with launch of products to ensure regulatory and payment partner requirements are met. Work cross-functionally across multiple teams to ensure execution against regulatory requirements and internal policies. Collaborate with internal Compliance teams (such as AML Compliance, Compliance Operations, Risk & Controls) to identify clear steps necessary to mitigate those regulatory risks and provide those recommendations in the form of clear business requirements. Partner with Product Managers to educate and drive the appropriate execution of compliance requirements. Partner with Legal and work to implement program changes to comply with the changing regulatory environment

Key job responsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities include the following: Create and drive a proactive compliance program inclusive of mechanisms to ensure partner and industry rules are transparent and optimized for cost reduction, operational efficiency, customer experience and new rule and network strategy development. Execute the strategic development plans while working closely with internal stakeholders including finance, product & technology, legal, operations and customer service teams Evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of new opportunities Support the strategic objectives and interests of Amazon s business teams on a global basisBasic Qualifications Bachelor s Degree is required 7+ years of professional experience in Risk Management, Compliance, or other internal control function Extensive experience within the financial services industry In depth knowledge of the payment industry, regulatory compliance landscape, and of credit and debit payments systemsPreferred Qualifications Experience working with geographically distributed teams within a complex international organization Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form across functional groups within the company, with Clients, Customers and Vendors, as well as Senior Management. Ability to manage through influence Strong analytical skills Compliance certification such as CRCM or CRP
