Description Mental Health Court Evaluator - Psychiatry -
EdmondsDescription:Swedish is calling a Mental Health Court
Evaluator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) in the Psychiatry Department at
Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday; operating
hours 8a-5pm PST.The Court Evaluator is responsible for providing
forensic services to patients who are going through the involuntary
treatment act (ITA) process. Such services shall include, but are
not limited to, evaluation of identified patients, preparing the
proper declarations and petitions, attending all necessary court
hearings related to the patients, entering in relevant necessary
notes into the patients' medical records and processing court
orders and other related paperwork. Duties also include educating
and guiding staff along ITA laws and regulations, liaising with
Snohomish/King Counties and ITA Court representatives and engaging
with treatment team members for care planning, court preparation
and alternative treatment measures.In this position you will:Work
collaboratively with patients, families, court officials, county
representatives, nurses, case managers, physicians, other
practitioners, caregivers and community resources and
agencies.Communicate timely, relevant and accurate information to
all parties involved with a patients care.Facilitate the
progression of ITA process per the patients treatment plan in order
to achieve desired outcomes.Integrate the patients treatment plan
and the mission of Swedish and affiliates through internal and
external relationships pertaining to ITA detentions and related
matters.Advocate on behalf of patients and caregivers for service
access or creation, and for the protection of the patients health,
safety and rights.Qualifications:Required qualifications for this
position include:Master's Degree in Social Work Counseling from an
accredited school OR Ph.D. from an accredited schoolTwo (2) years
experience in the areas of acute mental healthcare in an inpatient,
outpatient or legal settingLicensed Social Work Independent
Clinical (LSWIC), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or
Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Social Work Associate Advanced
(LSWAA)For LICSWs, compliance with the NASW Code of Ethics is
required.For LMHCs, compliance with the AMHCA Code of Ethics is
required.For Psychologists, compliance with the APA Ethical
Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct is required.Our
