everyday you will... 1. Provide quality nursing care to residents
in anenvironment which promotes resident rights, dignity, freedom
of choice, andtheir individuality while providing individualized
attention and encouragingresidents to maintain or attain the
highest practical physical, mental, andpsychosocial well-being and
answering residents' call lights promptly and courteously. 2.
Understand and ensure that individualized careplans are followed
and providing the charge nurse or other care planning staffwith
specific information, changes and observations of the residents'
needs andpreferences. 3. Attend to the individual needs of
residentsincluding assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene,
feeding, incontinentcare, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic
appliances, transferring,ambulation, range of motion,
communicating, or other needs in keeping with theindividuals' care
requirements. 4. Provide care that maintains each resident's
skinintegrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other
damage by changingincontinent residents, turning, repositioning
immobile residents, and applyingmoisturizers to fragile skin. 5.
Protect the personal belongings of each residentincluding
eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, furnishings, jewelry,
clothing,memorabilia, etc. Promptly reports missing items according
to establishedpolicy. 6. Perform various tasks assigned by the
chargenurse including vital signs, residents' weights, applying
creams/ointments,collecting specimens, as well as lifting, moving,
and transporting residents,using proper body mechanics or lifting
devices for accident prevention. 7. Responsible for keeping records
documenting careprovided or other information in keeping with
department policies whileperforming all job responsibilities in
accordance with prescribed safety andinfection control procedures
including thorough hand washing, use of disposablegloves where
indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials. 8. Incorporate
the Life Story and 100 Things AboutMe information into routine
tasks and ADL's for Expression memory careresidents. Education &
Experienceyou need to qualify: A high school diploma or equivalent.
Must holdcurrent Nursing Assistant Certification in State or be
eligible to obtaincertification within four months of employmentA
minimum of three months' prior nursingassistant experience in
long-term care preferredBasic knowledge and skills utilizing
caretracking systems Ways you can advancebeyond the Nursing
Assistant Certified - NAR/NAC/CNA role: Once you master this role,
you could consider the LeadCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or
other higher level jobs which wouldrequire additional education
including the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN),Registered Nurse (RN),
Staff Development Coordinator, or other similar jobswith Prestige
