Description: Swedish is seeking Critical Care RN Residents to
bring their personal best. $15,000 Sign-On Bonus - First payment
$5000 to be paid on first paycheck. Second payment $5000 to be paid
out after 12 months of employment. Third payment $5000 after 24

Start Date: RN residents must start this cohort on August 15, 2022
. Start date is dependent on the unit offered and is
non-negotiable. RN Residents are hired into "orientation"
positions/units giving our residents the ability to focus on areas
that match their interests and career goals. Near the end of the
12-20 week orientation phase of residency, RN residents are
assigned to work on a specific unit and shift. Most RN residents
stay on the unit they are oriented to, but if there is no open
position on that unit the RN resident will be transferred to a
similar unit where a position is open. Most RN residents are
assigned to 12 hour night shifts. Please note: The Residency is an
intense program and personal time off during the orientation period
(estimated 12 weeks to 20 weeks) cannot be accommodated outside of
normally scheduled days off. Essential Job Functions: The
Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing
care for patients in an acute care environment. Working with a
preceptor and assuming increasing responsibility during the
residency, the RN Resident is accountable for the delivery of
coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based
quality care to patients and families, based on individual
physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care
strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with
the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American
Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA
scope and standards of practice. Employs Nursing Professional
Practice: Assesses, identifies appropriate nursing diagnoses,
plans, implements and evaluates patients--- care. Develops, updates
and coordinates the patient---s plan of care to achieve patient
goals and to optimize outcomes and transitions across the care
continuum. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as
appropriate. At the completion of the residency, demonstrates
competencies in populations served and performs essential
competencies as required by specific unit of hire. Advocates:
Effectively advocates for ethical and holistic care by partnering
in care planning to promote the autonomy, dignity, rights, values
and beliefs of those we serve. Facilitates Learning: Fosters a
learning environment for patient/families, nursing, and other
members of the healthcare team including students; facilitates
formal and informal learning for patient/families, nursing, other
members of the healthcare team, and community. Aligns Practice with
Safety and Quality: Accountable for safety, identifies and corrects
problems, and integrates evidence, and best practice into nursing
care; uses data and evidence to improve patient outcomes. Aligns
patient safety, self-safety and environmental safety as equally
important for best outcomes. Engages in Professional Development:
Engages in ongoing professional development; practices to the top
of license within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act,
the Nursing Social Policy Statement, the ANA Code of Ethics for
Nurses, and specialty standards. Promotes a culture of inquiry that
explores, integrates and disseminates research and evidence based
practice. Leads in the Practice Setting & Community: Leads and
coordinates teams, appropriately delegates, coordinates care and
collaborates with others as equal members of the inter-professional
care team to integrate nursing knowledge. Models professional

Qualifications: Required Qualifications Nursing degree or diploma

upon hire Note to candidates who are currently licensed in
California or planning first licensure to California: the CA
endorsement process typically takes 8-12 weeks. Therefore, in order
to be a candidate for the August 2022 cohort , your endorsement
application and payment must be submitted by 6/16/22 . If you have
not yet designated a state for primary licensure, we recommend that
you choose WA rather than CA. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card
must be from the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire
Willingness to commit to full-time employment for 2 years and sign
