integrated across the entire continuum of care. Position in this
function is responsible for working with the surgical team to
insure that quality care is given to the patient. Works with team
members in providing assistance to the Surgeon by being familiar
with the surgical procedure, instruments, supplies and
equipment.

Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that

including quality, care and concern with each and every internal
and external customer
Assists in the assessment, planning and implementation of care
given to the surgical patient
Demonstrates ability to use supplies, equipment and instruments
appropriately
Follows strict principles of aseptic technique both in procedures
and in processing of equipment and instrumentation
Demonstrates knowledge of health and safety policies and
procedures, regulatory agency requirements, quality improvement
process, facility and departmental policies, procedures and
protocols
Participates in the identification and implementation of
improvements in the delivery of quality care
Responds expediently and courteously to requests for help from
patients and staff
Uses judgment in seeking consultation from circulating Nurse and
other unit Nursing staff
Maintains composure and initiates emergency care as appropriate
according to ACLS guidelines
Works with team members in the selection of supplies,
instrumentation and equipment needed for patient care
Uses, protects, and discloses Optum patients' protected health
information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

Current WA State Surgical Technologist Registration (ST)
Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technologists
- Current ORT (Operating Room Technician) certification
-2+ years of experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care
setting or a busy multi-specialty ASC

The hourly range for this role is -$27.00 per hour based on
full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but
not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience,
certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum
