Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist Profession: Allied Health Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ARRT or ICRS and ACLS Must-Have: Need ventilator and pressor management skills for procedure rooms. Experience with EMR systems, particularly Epic. Ability to assist with a variety of procedures including diagnostic and interventional cardiology, vascular interventions, and electrophysiology. Description: The Cath Lab Technologist will work in a dynamic environment with an average of 17 cases per day in the Cath Lab and up to 23 when including other procedures. The role requires circulating and monitoring patients during procedures. Technologists may float to other radiological areas to assist with CT, Ultrasound, or MRI procedures. Recovery nurses will be present in a 17-bed post-procedure area for patient recovery. Common procedures include diagnostic interventions, rotablator and shockwave procedures, ports, drains, and device implantation. Anesthesia will be present for all electrophysiology cases. Technologists will collaborate with a team that includes techs, nurses, and supervisors to ensure patient safety and efficiency during procedures. On-call requirements include 30-minute response time for procedure staff and 45 minutes for recovery nurses. Shifts typically consist of four ten-hour days, with required on-call one night a week and every third or fourth weekend. Orientation will be provided based on traveler experience. All staff are expected to take approximately one holiday per year, with scheduling rotated among permanent staff.
