Senior Software Engineer - Traffic (ASE)Seattle, Washington, United States - Software and ServicesDescriptionAs a Traffic Engineer, you will orchestrate the design and development of cutting-edge traffic proxies, libraries, and services that power Apple services at an unprecedented scale, serving hundreds of millions of users globally. You will enhance our network stack for improved ingress, egress, and mesh functionality. This role involves not just coding but also contributing to the architecture of Apple's backbone, pushing the boundaries of software development.   • Proficiency in one or more advanced programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, Java, Go, or native code languages.
  • Experience automating operations at scale (e.g., software deployments, configuration changes).
  • Understanding of performance analysis and optimization.
  • Knowledge of large-scale distributed systems.
  • Passion for enabling internal partner teams and improving team dynamics.Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with core production engineering practices, including designing for operability and scalability, adopting SLOs, and reducing toil.Compensation and BenefitsThe base pay range for this role is $166,600 to $296,300, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
