Job Description:

Swedish is looking for an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician (Per Diem, Variable Shift) in the Pharmacy at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, Washington.

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

In this position you will:

  • Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Contributes to the effective operation of the department
  • Picks up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
  • Enters medication orders into pharmacy computer system accurately.

  • Completes and documents all assigned medication storage area inspections monthly. Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Washington state Pharmacy Technician license

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • College courses desirable

  • Two (2) years experience as a Pharmacy technician experience
