Swedish is calling a Patient Registrar (1.0 FTE, Variable) to
work in Patient Registration at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
We are seeking a Patient Registrar to gather and distribute all
necessary demographic, financial and medical information to create
and maintain an accurate patient medical record, will greet and
assist patients, visitors and guests, collects payments and
deposits as appropriate.
In this position you will have the following
Accurately obtain, input, prepare, and distribute all necessary
information relative to a patient's registration for inpatient
care, emergency care, and all outpatient services, in order to
maintain an accurate medical record and ensure proper billing for
Follow managed care procedures, as applicable, to ensure
authorization of services.
Explain and obtain signatures on consent of admission form and
any other forms as appropriate.
Verify the accuracy of information on all pre-registered
patients upon arrival, and make appropriate corrections to the
system as necessary to ensure accurate records.
Provide excellent customer service by appropriately greeting and
responding to inquiries from patients, visitors, and

Coordinate bed assignment with the nursing unit for all direct
admits to ensure an efficient admission process for the
Maintain all necessary logs and files to provide a manual backup
system for computer down times.
- Maintain an up-to-date reference binder/folder with department
procedural changes and memos and use as needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED.
- Experience relating to customer service and data entry.
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- Experience in Patient Registration or in a related healthcare
