Position Description We are seeking an experienced and proactive Community Engagement Manager to join our Development team. This role occupies a position typically known as an institutional giving manager and will manage the organization’s institutional fundraising efforts, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and workplace giving strategies. The role does not hold the institutional giving title because of sensitivities to the language of institutions in the IDD community. You will be responsible for researching and developing a robust pipeline of grant opportunities, leading grant writing and submission, overseeing compliance and reporting, and building long-term partnerships with corporations and institutional funders to support the mission of Arc of King County. Organizational Reporting Relationships Department: Development Supervisor: Director of Development Essential Functions Grants Program Management Research and identify prospective institutional funders, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Develop and manage a comprehensive grant calendar to track deadlines, proposals, and reporting schedules. In partnership with programmatic leaders, lead the writing and submission of compelling grant proposals that align with funder priorities and organizational strategic goals and needs. Collaborate with program and finance teams to ensure accuracy in grant proposals, budgets, and reports. Ensure compliance with grant requirements and manage timely and accurate funder reports. Corporate Sponsorship Portfolio Develop and execute corporate sponsorship strategies to secure new sponsorships and maintain existing partnerships. Act as the primary point of contact for corporate sponsors, fostering long-term relationships and ensuring sponsor deliverables are met. Workplace Giving Strategy In collaboration with the Director of Development and the Development Assistant, lead workplace giving efforts, including maximization of matching gift programs and employee giving campaigns. Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate partners to enhance employee engagement through giving and volunteerism. Create strategies to grow participation and expand workplace giving partnerships. Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications Education Preferred Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of experience in institutional fundraising, grant writing, or development. Proven success in securing and managing grants from foundations, corporations, or government agencies. Strong writing, research, and organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Experience working with corporate partners, including securing sponsorships or leading workplace giving initiative Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field. Experience managing corporate sponsorships and developing long-term partnerships. Familiarity with nonprofit workplace giving programs. Proficiency in fundraising databases or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge). OR a combination of education, experience, and measurable performance that demonstrates the capability to perform the duties of this position. Physical and Other Requirements Ability to be productive and maintain prolonged attention in an open office environment Some presence in the office during work week is required Ability to use fine motor skills continuously Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Hours/Salary/Benefits The Institutional Giving Manager is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position with a salary range of $31.25 to $38.50, commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for The Arc’s employee benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(K), EAP, Orca card, and more.
